Welcome to Camp Bay Lodge

The Island Trip You Imagined — Uncrowded, Unhurried, Unforgettable

On Roatán’s quiet East End, far from the bustle of West Bay and the cruise ship crowds, there’s a stretch of shoreline where the Caribbean still feels untouched. This is Camp Bay — a place of wide horizons, soft winds, and an easy rhythm that invites you to slow down and simply be.

Camp Bay Lodge was created for travelers who seek that feeling.
The ones who value space over spectacle, nature over noise, and genuine warmth over anything scripted. Our boutique beachfront hotel sits directly on one of the island’s most peaceful beaches, surrounded by palms, natural beauty, and the kind of calm that stays with you long after you leave.

A Basecamp for Slow Adventure

Here, adventure blends effortlessly with tranquility.
Camp Bay is home to Roatán’s most consistent kitesurfing conditions, with steady trade winds and open beaches perfect for both first-timers and experienced riders. Our on-site school and beach launch make it easy to be on the water within minutes.

Prefer a gentler day? Step aboard our private Bali catamaran. Explore quiet reefs, hidden coves, and remote islands, or drift along the coastline with a drink in hand. Snorkeling, swimming, sunbathing, sunset sailing—every moment is made to feel unhurried and unforgettable.

Designed for Comfort, Simplicity & Connection

Our rooms are intentionally simple—crafted with local materials, natural textures, and open-air charm. Wooden verandas, ocean breezes, cozy hammocks, and the sound of the waves create a setting meant for deep rest and real connection. This is barefoot living at its best.

A Place to Find Your Rhythm

Camp Bay Lodge is more than a hotel—it’s a feeling.
Morning light over a quiet beach. Breezy afternoons in a hammock. Evenings under a sky full of stars. Days that unfold slowly, with just enough adventure to make them memorable.

Whether you’re here to recharge, explore, dive, kite, sail, or simply breathe, you’ll find a version of the Caribbean that feels beautifully real.

Welcome to the quiet side of Roatán.

Contact Us

Rachel

Rachel is your guaranteed morning sunshine. She will be there greeting you with your morning coffee or tea, and a fresh homemade breakfast. She has been with us since we opened the Camp Bay Lodge and is actually The Lodge’s longest time employee as she was with the previous owners since they initially constructed The Lodge. Rachel is a native of the Camp Bay Village, and along with her extended family support many of the activities of the Patronato. Ask Rachel anything about The Village and she will be a wealth of information.

Nessa

Nessa is the one with the infectious smile. She is out there delivering food and drinks and interacting with our guests, always spreading that genuine happiness. Nessa is also our number two bartender. After joining us 3 years ago she worked alongside Vicky and learned many of Vicky’s tricks. Nessa is also a life-long resident of Camp Bay and is family with Rachel. Maybe that is why they share that warm smile.

Chito

You may or may not get to know Chito as he is always busy. You certainly will know Chito if you experience any problems with your accommodations. He is our multi-talented maintenance guru. He was also responsible for the build-out of our new rooms and the remodeling of some of the older rooms. He is our problem solver when it comes to anything related to our east end Roatan hotel facilities. Chito and his family live on the east end as does all of our team, but Chito is our ‘commuter’, traveling in from First Bight each day.

Pedro

If you are an early-bird, you will find Pedro every morning grooming the beach before our guests head out to enjoy the sun. If you are not an early riser your will find Pedro working around the grounds keeping our lush plantings happy. He is our master gardener and landscape specialist. He has been with us for quite some time and the grounds have been completely transformed since he joined. Prior to working at our Eco Lodge in Roatan, he was the gardener down the beach at Spring Water. Pedro and his family currently live in Oak Ridge but prior to that they were living in The Village.

Savani

Savani, also from the camp bay village, has been a recent addition to our team. She has been learning bars and services skills quite rapidly. We are excited to get to know her better over this season.

Junior:

Kite Team

Junior is our big support from St. Helene and he is been teaching beginner lessons for 2 years. Students appreciate his calm & clear instructions. He is extremely methodical and makes sure you hit those milestones to become a self sufficient kitesurfer. You’ll be in the best hands and knowing someone is seriously looking after you and dedicated to your progress and safety.

Jardale:

Kite Team

Jardale has been helping us since Day 1 when we used to live door by door in the village. Many guests have him in good memory because of his kind personality and helpful attitude. He usually is assisting on the beach or driving the rescue boat but has started to do the next step and is teaching beginner lessons and taking on supervision with guests not quite ready to be by themselves. Invite him for a boardgame or any other fun activity if you want to get to know him.
